Consultants Who Ship

AI Consulting is an independent AI consultancy based in Melbourne, working with Australian businesses that are past the hype and want to know what is genuinely worth doing.

We do strategy and implementation, deliberately, as one practice. The roadmap and the build are not separate businesses with separate incentives — they are the same team, which is the whole point.

What We Stand For

Four principles that decide what work we take and how we do it.

We Build What We Recommend

Advice you never have to deliver yourself drifts into fantasy very quickly. Because our consultants are the same engineers who ship the work, every recommendation has to survive the question "and could we actually build that?" — which quietly removes most of the bad ideas in AI strategy.

Independent, With No Margin Riding On It

We hold no reseller agreements and take no commission on the platforms we recommend. That means we can tell you the honest answer is a $30-per-month off-the-shelf tool, or that a project is not worth doing at all, without it costing us anything to say.

Plain English, Always

If a recommendation cannot be explained to your operations manager in two minutes, it is not ready. We do not hide thin thinking behind maturity models and quadrant diagrams. Our deliverables are written so you can present them to your board without a translator.

Australian Context, Not a Global Template

We work with the systems Australian businesses actually run — Xero, MYOB, local job management and CRM platforms — and the rules they actually answer to, including the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. Not a US playbook with the spelling changed.

Why We Exist

There is a pattern that repeats across Australian business right now. A consultancy is engaged. Discovery runs for six weeks. A polished transformation roadmap is presented, an invoice follows, and everyone agrees it was a valuable exercise.

A year later, nothing is in production. Not because the strategy was stupid, but because the people who wrote it never had to make it work against a real job management system, a real messy customer database, and a real team who did not ask for any of it.

We started AI Consulting to close that gap. Our consultants are engineers first. When we tell you a use case is viable, we are the ones who then have to build it, integrate it, and put it into production — which is a powerful filter on what we are willing to recommend in the first place.

The other half of it is independence. We hold no reseller agreements, so there is no margin steering our advice toward a particular platform. Some of the most useful things we have told clients are “buy the off-the-shelf tool”, “fix the process before you automate it”, and “this one is not worth doing”. None of those pay us anything, and all of them are why clients come back.

So the offer is deliberately simple. The first conversation is free. If there is enough substance, the AI Opportunity Audit is a fixed $3,000 + GST and you own everything it produces — including the freedom to have someone else build it.

Part of the Yes AI Family

AI Consulting is the consulting practice of Yes AI, a Melbourne-based AI company building automation, voice agents and custom AI systems for Australian businesses. The consulting arm exists because clients kept asking a question the product side could not answer: not “can you build this?” but “should we?”

Our sister practices cover AI phone reception, business process automation, custom language models and healthcare AI. When your roadmap calls for one of them, the capability is in the building — and when it does not, we will say that too.
